Popular manga and anime series “Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso” will be getting a live-action movie adaptation which is set for release in 2016.
Unlike the manga and the anime, the characters will be second-year high school students instead of junior high students.
Landing the role of the piano prodigy Arima Kousei in this movie is Yamazaki Kento who acted in “Orange” live-action movie and Hirose Suzu who acted in “Umimachi Diary” live-action moview will take up the role of Kaori Miyazono, the free-spirited violinst. Yamazaki Kento and Hirose Suzu began practicing piano and violin respectively for about 6 months before the start of the filming in order to fit into the roles.
Completing the line up, E-girls member Ishii Anna take the role of Tsubaki Sawabe, Kousei’s childhood friend and Ryota Watari will be played by Nakagawa Taishi who had a role in “Ao Oni ver.2.0”.
For those who have yet to seen the anime series which was on air last fall, the story revolves around Arima Kousei, a former child prodigy who lost his ability to play the piano following the death of his mother. His daily life has been monochrome since, but upon meeting a violinst(Kaori Miyazono) by chance, Kousei’s life began to gain colours.
