Heads up Gundam fans in Singapore or whereever you are reading this from, there will be an big Gundam event heading your way next month in June 2015 in conjunction with the 35th anniversary of Gundam and Singapore’s 50th year of independence. From the 4th June to the 28th June,”Gundam Docks in Singapore” will be held at Takashimaya Square, B2 and Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza. Sporting an exhibition size of approximately 4,000sqm, the showcase will feature over 200 models of the phenomenal Gundam series – the first anime based on space war and machines that sparked off the genre of robotic anime.
Pick a side, the Earth Federation Space Force or the Principality of Zeon.
One of the main attractions of this Gundam Docks in Singapore will be the sight of the 6 metre tall 1/3 scale statues of the iconic RX-78-2 Gundam and MS-06F Char’s Zaku custom. Accompanying the statues will be daily light and sound shows in the evening.
Merchandise & Activities
As per any Gundam event, there will be merchandise on sale for fans, collectors alike with over 10 booths selling merchandises. And given that this is the very first Gundam Docks event in Singapore, chances are there will be event only exclusive merchandise on sale. Get ready your wallets would be very much recommended here to prepare what they will be putting up for sale.
Quoting Mr. Takayoshi Oyama, Bandai Namco Singapore’s Hobby Products Dept Manager, “Gundam Docks in Singapore will be Asia’s largest Gundam exhibition and showcase. Singapore was selected to host the show as it is a strategic market for us and a gateway for South-east Asia. In partnership with one of Asia’s best shopping malls, we look forward to delivering a spectacular experience for fans, families, and friends in Singapore, as well as from the region.”
