With the successful sold out tours in Asia (2012) and Europe (2013), Electro-Pop girl trio, Perfume announced “Perfume WORLD TOUR 3rd” to take place in 5 cities: Taipei, Singapore, Los Angeles, New York and London! Winner of the Silver Lion Award in Cyber Lions category with their “Perfume Global Site Project”, Perfume were invited to Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in France and performed a special version of their single, “Spending All My Time”.
The reviews for the cutting-edge performance were phenomenal, propelling Perfume to an international breakthrough. This will be the first time for Perfume to bring their highly anticipated live performance to United States.
Perfume first toured Singapore in 2012 at *SCAPE with their first ever WORLD TOUR 1st, simultaneously holding their first-ever overseas LIVE VIEWING event which broadcasted their Singapore concert in real time to a worldwide cinema audiences of 40,000 people. 2014 marks the return of Perfume to Singapore;they will be bringing their brand new state-of-the-art concert tour to the Southeast Asia region at the prestigious Resorts World™ Theatre, Resorts World Sentosa. Established in the year 2000, Perfume is the top Techno-Pop girl trio and one of the most influential girls group in Japan. Formed by three girls from same dance/acting school, the group is well known for their futuristic concept and their creative performance. Sound produced by Yasutaka Nakata (capsule), they’ve received many awards in the Japanese market. They have released numerous GOLD singles, DOUBLE PLATINUM album, 2 PLATINUM albums and PLATINUM DVDs.
The group made their major debut in 2005. The breakthrough came with their monster hit single “Polyrhythm” in 2007. This song took techno pop music and culture to the mainstream. Appearing in many TV programs, public advertisements and music being featured in the movie “Cars 2”, Perfume instantly became the top pop icon in Japan.
They went on their first national tour in 2008, conquering the top venue in Japan, Tokyo Dome, with a SOLD OUT show by the year 2010. In 2012, Perfume visited 13 cities and put out 22 shows as part of their 3rd national tour “JPN”. Total number of audience came close to 200K which has been one of the biggest tours of their career. In June, they hosted an internationally acclaimed award show “MTV VMAJ 2012 (MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2012)” and won 2 awards.
Their new challenge to go out to global market started in 2012 as they were newly signed to Universal Music Japan. In Oct. and Nov. 2012, they went on their very first tour in Asia, ”, visiting Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore. With all 4 shows completely SOLD OUT and “Perfume Global Compilation “LOVE THE WORLD”” being released worldwide (physical releases in Asian countries and iTunes worldwide), they have proven their popularity goes beyond Japan.
In July, 2013, Perfume went on “Perfume WORLD TOUR 2nd” visiting Germany, France and the UK. Tickets for all 3 shows SOLD OUT instantly and the publicity of the show and their interviews were featured on major publications in Europe such as ELLE France and Der Spiegel in Germany.
On Oct 2nd, 2013, Perfume released their first Universal album “LEVEL3”, scoring their 5th consecutive No.1 album on Oricon Weekly album chart which is a record set by a female group in Japan! This album came in Top 10 on iTunes Electronic ALBUM chart in 19 regions including the US and was released on CD in 15 countries outside of Japan. (No.1 in 4 regions)
In Dec. 2013, they went on a DOME TOUR playing 2 shows each at Tokyo and Osaka Domes (total of 180K audiences with 4 shows). Tickets of all 4 shows SOLD OUT within hours since they went on sale!
