“We’re very proud to be part of Pitch to SHINE this year, and the theme #FreeYourYou really inspired us to pursue our dream of organising ‘Jump Singapore’, Southeast Asia’s inaugural parkour freerunning event. As one of six teams to be a Fold recipient, the grant will allow us to deliver a world-class parkour event in this part of the world,” said Derrick Siu, Founder, Superfly Monkey Dragons.
“SHINE Youth Festival is an ideal platform for us to share our message about how we need to appreciate all the parts that make up the Singapore we know and love. By using art, we hope to bridge gaps across different communities , and through SHINE, have a broader and long-lasting impact on today’s youth,” said Sophia Tan, Founder, The Everyday Revolution.
Pledge to SHINE has also launched into motion this year with a Facebook application that enables youth to share their pledges online at http://www.facebook.com/SHINEYouth .”With the introduction of our new Pledge to SHINE Platform this year, we want to enable more youth to showcase their talents and undertake more worthy causes which ultimately benefit the community,” said Muhammad Imaduddien, Chairman of the SHINE Youth Festival 2013 Steering Committee.
