“Manga Festival in Singapore” is coming on 15-17th February. It will bring lots of Japanese Manga both hard copy and soft copy, but we’ll focus on a chance to represent Singapore in an exclusive dialogue. A chance that could shape Singapore’s manga scene in the years to come! Read more if it fancies you!

“MANGA festival in Singapore” will include a joint expo by Japanese 10 MANGA Publishers Association*, as the MANGA department of CoFesta (JAPAN International Contents Festival). The event provides a forum for exchange of Japanese publishers and Singapore companies, and also appeal the charm of the MANGA, greatly to people of Republic of Singapore and Countries of ASEAN, and is intended to contribute to the international business development and international competitiveness of the entire publishing industry.

What is CoFesta?

CoFesta (JAPAN INTERNATIONAL CONTENTS FESTIVAL) is the largest comprehensive content industry like games, animation, manga, characters, broadcasting, music, film and the content related industry like fashion and design are held in cooperation with each other.

Now back to the main point,

The Government of Japan has decided to hold a session related to CoFesta Student Ambassador program. A public forum will be held with Mr. Lim Cheng Tju, a famous comic historian and 3 Singaporean students to represent Manga fans. They will discuss Manga situation in Singapore.

  • Requested manga character goods will be delivered from Japan for participating students!
  • This dialogue will be held right before MANGA Festival 2013 autograph sessions, with special quests including Shinya Shokudo’s Yaro Abe, TALES OF AGRICULTURE’s Masayuki Ishikawa, Sgt. Keroro’s Mine Yoshizaki, CRYPTON FUTURE MEDIA’s President Hiroyuki Itoh, and Culture Japan’s Danny Choo! There will also be a showcase of Hatsune Miku.
  • The exclusive nature of the dialogue (only 3 students) also means that there is a chance you get to network with people behind the scenes or even the guests themselves.
