Japan Academy Awards have been given out… And the winner of the Best animated feature goes to… …

Kokoriko-Zaka Kara, コクリコ坂から. A project by Studio Ghilbli with TOHO, Disney, NTV, Dentsu, Hakuhodo DY Media Partners and D-Rights.


The story is about a girl facing fighting to save a old cultural building for demolition while in the process fell in love only to find out that they might be siblings. The story is set in the 1963 just before the Tokyo Olympics.

The other notable winner is, Best Featured film, 八日目の蝉, Youkame No Semi, which won  also the best Script, best Music, best Cinematography, best Lighting, best Recording and best Editing awards.


八日目の蝉, Youkame No Semi, also helped Inoue mao won the Best actress award,  Hiromi Nagasaku won the Best supporting actress and Narushima Izuru for best director award.

Best oversea feature film goes to “The King’s Speech”, a film i personally really liked.

P.S.: With so many awards win, I’m looking forward to see what Youkame no Semi has to offer… If i have the chance. Too bad K-On! The movie, didn’t win…
