AKB48′s Atsuko Maeda to release first solo single.

On April 23rd, during AKB48’s handshake event in Nagoya Dome, Maeda Atsuko announced that she is releasing her solo debut on June 22nd.

The debut theme song is titled “Flower” and will be used as the background song in the upcoming movie, “Moshidora” which Maeda is also starring in.

AKB48 new song “Everyday, Kachuusha” will be the theme song for the movie “Moshidora”

When the announcement was made, the fans in Nagoya Dome erupted with cheers and the other AKB members also sent their blessings with a smile.

The only other member who has had an official solo debut is Itano Tomomi; a first generation AKB48 member like Maeda. “Flower” will be released through King Records, just like AKB48 and Itano’s releases.

The single will be released in 3 different versions, each with a different cover and a DVD included. Pre order is now available at cdjapan as well.
