This August in Singapore, other then the National Day Celebrations, we have 2 other great events to attend too.
First the Japanese Association of Singapore’s annual Natsu Matsuri, this is strictly not an ACG event and by no means nerdly… It’s actually a real cultural event by the Japanese in Singapore to celebrate the Summer and it’s the nearest one can feel like in Japan, without going to Japan.
Previous years can customs have determined that the event will include stalls selling goodies from Japan like Ice Cream, Sweets, Curry Rices and etc, together with on stage performances and the Bon Odori(mass/harvest dance).
Date: 21st August
Time: 5pm ~ 10pm
Venue: Japanese Primary School(Changi), No.11 upper Changi road north.
Entrance Fee: $2
It aspires to be Singapore’s version of Comiket, although it’s a lot smaller. In fact this year, it’s bigger location wise and has the support of Genesis Frontier, Singapore biggest Anime Related Goods Importer and Distributor, and it’s location sponsor Sculpture Square.
Date: 28th August
Venue: Sculpture Square, 155 Middle Road (S)188977.
Entrance Fee: Free!
There will be also be a Touhou Hisoutensoku Tournament, it’s a Touhou fighting game. Ah, I smell interest. Nice. So if you are in the area, why not meet up, It will be fun yah?
Hope to see you there!
And the events are already added in the calender.
